N Magennis is an author and artist.

She’s worked across many forms and genres over the years, and often failed to keep them in their boxes. In recent years she has focussed on poetry.

Her poems won the James Kirkup Prize in 2012, the William Soutar Prize in 2013 and the Nairn Book and Arts Festival Poetry Prize in 2014. Other poems were shortlisted for the Holland Park prize and the Stirling Book festival poetry prize, and have been anthologized in various books and magazines including Iota, Poetry Scotland, and Gutter.

She has also published fiction and non-fiction, founded & edited an online zine, written book reviews and two novels.

Her pamphlet ‘Meeting Buddha in Dumbarton’ was published by Red Squirrel Press in 2014 .

She is now working on a poetry collection, as well as various other projects, including time travel, and will be right back when she’s done (if not before).

She lives in Argyll, Scotland with her partner and their children.
