N Magennis is an author and artist.
She’s worked in many forms and genres over the years, and often spectacularly failed to keep them in their tidy boxes.
Her poems won the James Kirkup Prize in 2012, the William Soutar Prize in 2013 and the Nairn Book and Arts Festival Poetry Prize in 2014. Other poems were shortlisted for the Holland Park prize and the Stirling Book festival poetry prize, and have been anthologized in various books and magazines including Iota, Poetry Scotland, and Gutter.
A poetry pamphlet ‘Meeting Buddha in Dumbarton’ came out in 2014 .
She has also published short literary fiction and non-fiction, edited a magazine, written book reviews and many short stories and two novels of erotic fiction. Almost all types of writing have been undertaken from the smallest comma to the really quite long book, basically. It’s been wordy.
She is currently working on many projects, including time travel, and will be right back when she’s done. She lives in Argyll, Scotland with her partner and their children.
